Images of Christ

“Images of Christ”, a contemporary gospel musical group, are the proud daughters of Bishop, Dr. Billy Johns, and Associate Pastor & First Lady Leticia Johns, the founders of Greater New Life Christian Church in Taylor, Texas.  The group consists of Mary McGarity, Felicia Mixon, Jessica Johns, Erika Johns-Williams, Melissa Johns and Jennifer Johns-Charles.  The musicians in the group are Bobby Charles (husband of Jennifer), Jodie McGarity (husband of Mary) and Jae Watson.

“Images of Christ” was formed in 1997 under the direction of Bishop, Dr. Johns.  The group originally consisted of the three youngest sisters, Melissa, Erika and Jennifer.  In 2000, the three oldest sisters joined the group, which completed the vision that was given by God to Bishop, Dr. Johns.  In November 2000, the Lord blessed “Images of Christ with musicians.   Jodie joined the group as the drummer in November 2000 and in January 2005 Bobby joined the group as the musical director and keyboardist.  Jae recently joined the group in 2009 as a percussionist.  “Images of Christ” have performed in various cities throughout Texas as well as Mexico and New Mexico. 

“Images of Christ” goal is to spread the message of our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, through song all over the world.  They desire to exemplify the name of their group by being Christian examples everywhere they go.  Through the leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit, they write their own songs.  They strive to magnify God with the purpose of winning souls for Christ.  “Images of Christ” also recognizes the awesome privilege and honor it is to be in a position to not only bless people with their angelic and anointed voices, but also with their powerful testimonies that “You Can Make It!”
